Feta cheese (1/2 cup crumbled)
Large egg (1)
Onion (1/4 cup finely chopped)
Garlic (2 cloves minced)
Dried oregano (1 tsp)
Salt (1/2 tsp plus 1/2 tsp to taste)
Black pepper (1/2 tsp)
Olive oil (1 tbsp)
Heavy cream (1 cup)
Tomato paste (1/2 cup)
Feta cheese (1/3 cup crumbled)
Garlic (1 clove minced)
Smoked paprika (1 tsp)
Fresh parsley (for garnish)
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, feta cheese, egg, onion, garlic, oregano, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp pepper. Mix gently until combined.
Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
In a medium saucepan, whisk together heavy cream, tomato paste, remaining feta cheese, garlic, 1/2 tsp smoked paprika, parsley, and 1/2 tsp salt. Cook over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until sauce thickens.
Assemble burgers by placing patties on burger buns, topped generously with the tomato cream sauce. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 tsp smoked paprika as garnish.
Use 80/20 ground beef for optimal juiciness
Tomato cream sauce will reduce and thicken more when chilled
Optional toppings: avocado, lettuce, or keto-friendly pickles
Serve with zucchini noodles or cauliflower rice for extra crunch
