Ingredients

500 g ground beef
4 pita breads
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 cup chopped lettuce
1 cup diced tomatoes
1/2 cup sliced cucumber
For the lemon garlic sauce:
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt to taste

Instructions

Preheat oven to 200°C (375°F)
Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a pan over medium heat
Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute
Add ground beef and cook until browned
Stir in oregano, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper until fragrant
In a separate bowl, mix Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and remaining garlic with 1 tablespoon olive oil
Warm pita breads in the oven for 5 minutes
Layer cooked beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and cucumber inside each pita
Spoon lemon garlic sauce over the top to serve

Notes

For a halal option, use halal-certified ground beef and olive oil
Substitute pita bread with tortillas or flatbreads
Leftover lemon garlic sauce can be stored in the fridge for 3 days
Add optional toppings like kalamata olives or red onion for extra flavor
