Ingredients

Scale

1 lb ground beef
1 tsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
4 pita pockets
1 cup lettuce, shredded
1 tomato, diced
1/2 cucumber, diced
1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup tzatziki sauce

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and garlic; sauté until fragrant.
Add ground beef and cook until browned and no longer pink.
Stir in ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
Warm the pita pockets in the oven or microwave.
Divide the beef mixture among the pita pockets.
Top each pita with shredded lettuce, diced tomato, diced cucumber, crumbled feta, and a spoonful of tzatziki sauce.
Close the pita pockets and serve immediately.

Notes

Use lean ground beef for a healthier option. To veganize, swap ground beef with crumbled tofu or a plant-based meat alternative and omit feta or use a vegan cheese version.
Adjust the spices to your taste, adding a pinch of oregano or chili powder for extra flavor.
Any leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to two days.
