Description

This creamy cafeteria noodles recipe is the ultimate quick and cozy comfort food. Rich, buttery, and ready in 20 minutes—your new weeknight go-to.

Ingredients

Scale

4 cups chicken stock

1 chicken bouillon cube

16 ounces egg noodles (wide)

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup

½ cup (1 stick) salted butter

Fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. In a large pot, bring chicken stock and bouillon cube to a boil.

2. Add egg noodles and stir well. Return to a boil.

3. Stir in cream of chicken soup. Let it boil for 2 minutes to slightly thicken.

4. Remove from heat and stir in the butter.

5. Cover the pot and let sit for 5–7 minutes until butter melts and noodles finish cooking.

6. Stir gently, garnish with parsley if using, and serve hot.

Notes

Use good-quality stock for the best flavor.

Add shredded rotisserie chicken for a protein boost.

To loosen sauce, add a splash of warm stock or water when reheating.

Toss in frozen peas or carrots when adding noodles for a veggie boost.

For extra richness, stir in shredded cheese with the butter.
